Where removal and salvage are required parts of an agreement with RAX Enterprises Inc. the following Request for Proposal, tailored to the specific machine and circumstance, would be sent to any contractor considering the work at hand.

 

Below you will find a two part Request for Proposal (RFP).
- "PART #1" is for the salvage of attachments and components for sale to another end user, the second is for the scrapping/disposal of all that remains as well as COMPLETE removal to bare ground.
- "PART #2' has been sent in case there is a scrap dealer with whom you have a good working relationship and with whom you would be able to partner this deal.

PART #1; RFP for the salvage of attachments and components

Request your competitive bid proposal for component and attachment salvage of MAKE & MODEL located at LOCATION.

You should be aware that your activities, whether through the use of your own personnel or any subcontractor, will be subject to....
- the designated "Safety Coordinator" on the mine site where this work is to take place.
- local union arrangements that may have a bearing on what you are doing.
- federal, state, county, mine site and environmental regulations relative to this activity
Regardless of which removal procedure you elect to follow RAX Enterprises Inc. and company principals will not be held responsible for any failure to comply with federal, state, county, mine site regulations relative to this activity including, but not limited to, those mentioned above.

Your responsibilities, whether through the use of your own personnel or any third party contractor(s), will include....
- provision of all tools required for the project
- provision of all manpower required for the project
- provision of all lifting and carrying machinery (cranes, forklifts, ladders, scaffolding, man lifts, etc)
- disassembly of each machine as described in "Scope of Work" below
- sealing of all openings against dust and water ingress during transport/storage
- protection of all surfaces and parts vulnerable to impact and/or corrosion during transport/storage
- supply of any skids, crates and containers required
- environmentally responsible washing to "export standards" of all of the above prior to removal from mine site
- loading of the parts/components selected onto the trucks as they arrive. You will be expected to position and block the load to the point of driver acceptance for tie down.
- you will be responsible for all environmental contamination plus legal disposal of all HAZMAT including (but not limited to) all oils, antifreeze, rubber, plastic, batteries and Freon. Be aware that:
A) In the case of fluids (including grease) and gases, complete and thorough evacuation is required prior to scrapping the remainder of the machine.
B) Proof of insurance is required for the HAZMAT team.

Therefore, and since CONTRACTOR FIRM'S NAME would be in firsthand control of the salvage operation, RAX Enterprises Inc. can only proceed following written receipt of a document stating unequivocally that your company will hold both RAX Enterprises Inc. company principals, harmless in the event of any and all failure to comply with the regulations mentioned above as well as any others that apply to the situation at hand that may not have been mentioned here. This extends also to any and all subcontractors you elect to retain.

Two final items....
A) If you have access to a secure storage yard and we would like to get rental rates.
B) If of interest you can also bid on the removal of the scrap that remains after selected items are removed. Details are shown under PART #2 below

With your firm price submission, please state your earliest available start date as well as projected time to completion on PART #1.

 

PART #2; RFP for COMPLETE removal of all remaining scrap material.

Request your competitive bid proposal for the scrapping of MAKE & MODEL located LOCATION. The machine in question is to have major components and attachments removed for resale. It is expected that DESCRIPTION OF SCRAP will be available as scrap. If interested you will have to consider the following information.

- provision of all cutting and mechanical tools required for the project
- provision of all manpower required for the project
- provision of all lifting and carrying machinery (cranes, forklifts, ladders, scaffolding, man lifts, etc)
- provision of all transportation offsite for the material removed
- completion of the project, meaning "removal of the entire machine to bare ground", within a reasonable timeframe to be agreed upon once the amount of material to be scrapped is determined.
- you will be responsible for all environmental contamination plus legal disposal of all HAZMAT including (but not limited to) all oils, antifreeze, rubber, plastic, batteries and Freon. Be aware that:
